Sobering New Statistic

Nearly 10,000 fewer restaurants exist compared with the last year.  There are 9,450 fewer restaurants in the United States than there were last year, according to a report released by the NPD Group.  Of that group, 8,650 were independent restaurants, the segment of the industry that has suffered the most since 2010 when the research firm began its study.  The study, conducted from April 1, 2010, to March 31, 2011 found that 3,495 quick-service restaurants had closed and 5,065 full-service locations were shuttered.

More reason than ever to be brilliant at the basics. The little things mean a lot. Never get bored with the Fundamentals.
